The New Normal is a new, online magazine focused on socially conscious professionals. Based in the heart of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, The New Normal offers fresh, exciting content covering Innovation, Current Events, Culture, and Life.
Utilising the latest multimedia techniques and the skills of our international, diverse staff, The New Normal Magazine will keep Scotland’s entrepreneurs, professionals, and socially conscious business community connected, informed, and constantly updated on issues that matter.

Meet Our Team
Our team of 22 writers, editors and promoters come from a wide range of backgrounds, from almost every continent on Earth. From Sports Journalists to Video experts, The New Normal Magazine Team are highly trained professionals dedicated to responsible and fair journalism.
Sophie Law is one of the Editors in Chief of The New Normal Magazine and a Scottish student living in Glasgow. She has an MA in International Relations and Sociology and is currently studying for a master’s in Digital Journalism. She can usually be found riffling through vintage shops feeding her addiction to clothes and her life goal is to travel to a new place every year. Rhuaridh Marr is one of the Editors in Chief of The New Normal Magazine and a Scottish student living near Stirling. He has an MA in Politics and is currently studying for his master’s in Digital Journalism. Bryce is a Glasgow newbie from Los Angeles. She moved to Scotland to get her Master’s in Digital Journalism after receiving her BA in Philosophy at UCLA. She is a deputy editor at The New Normal Magazine. She often daydreams of saving all the animals on the planet, but for now she’ll focus on becoming a kick ass journalist.

Paul Gerard is a deputy editor of The New Normal Magazine and a Scottish student, who originally hails from Ayrshire, but is now living in Glasgow. He has a BA in Social Sciences, an MLitt in Film & Television Studies. Due to a love affair with higher education, he is studying for a master’s in Digital Journalism. Other than a cumbersome ascension from armchair revolutionary to political activist, he enjoys watching and reviewing films and chasing the pipe dream of fronting a successful band.

The Sub Editors
Lam Jian Wyn is a subeditor at The New Normal Magazine. She hails from hot and sunny Malaysia, which is a rather long drive from Scotland. Prior to joining the MLitt in Digital Journalism programme at the University of Strathclyde, she had worked as a journalist covering all things real estate. In her spare time, she explores as much of Scotland as she can, enjoys a ‘Glaswegian salad’ (aka Bloody Mary) or three, and whips up spicy Peranakan food to varying degrees of success. Amanda Park is sub-editor of The New Normal Magazine and is a Scottish student from Glasgow. She has an MA in Politics and is currently studying part-time for her master’s in Digital Journalism. She works in a communications role within the higher education sector and writes freelance in her spare time. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her feeding her obsession with true crime, dancing to tunes from every decade, or spending money she doesn’t have on travelling. She tries to live by these words, “anything that gets your blood racing is probably worth doing!”
Alexander McLeman is a sub-editor at The New Normal Magazine and full-time freelance sports journalist, with work published in the Herald, Sunday Herald, Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, Daily Record, The Sun, Courier, Press and Journal, and a host of other national and local publications in the U.K. He is undertaking his master’s in digital journalism to further expand his range in the journalistic field. Carlota Taveira is a sub-editor at The New Normal Magazine. Last year she decided to start a Master’s in Digital Journalism. A “few” degrees Celsius colder than Lisbon, Glasgow was the chosen destination. Having some familiarity with travelling she wants to write about all the storytellers in the world, she believes everyone has something interesting to say as long as we know how to reach them.
Ryan Kay is a sub-editor at The New Normal magazine. Originally from Edinburgh, he moved to Glasgow last year to study his master’s in Digital Journalism. He has a keen interest in photography and aspires to be a cross between David Attenborough and Kanye West when he grows up.

Areej is a sub-editor of the New Normal Magazine and was born and raised in the Middle East, however she is a devoted Pakistani at heart. After completing her Bachelors in Journalism, she moved to Scotland to get out of her comfort zone. When she’s not daydreaming about becoming a travel journalist, she likes to spend her time wandering in art shops, sketching portraits, reading books and polishing her photography skills. John is a Web Editor at The New Normal Magazine. Coming from Aberdeenshire, John studied English and Psychology at the University of Dundee. When not sat behind his laptop John enjoys photography and design or diving into another fantasy novel.

Evgenia (or Jenny) is a web editor of The New Normal Magazine. She is from Greece and she is currently studying for her Master’s in Digital Journalism at Strathclyde, after receiving her BA in Philosophy at the University of Patras. She derives great joy in eating, dancing, being alone, annoying other people or believing that one day humanity will dissolve its struggle strategy for social revolution against the imperialistic and capitalistic oppression.
The Promotions Team
Cameron Willis is part of the promotions team on The New Normal Magazine and works freelance as a creative content and communications consultant, which is definitely more exciting than it sounds. He has a passion for writing, travelling, mischief and people, and has a rare talent for speaking himself into trouble — then back out of it again. He love’s cooking, football, music and terrible jokes and would share a pint with anyone.

He has a BA in Mass Communication in the University of Nigeria and currently doing his PG Diploma at the University of Strathclyde. He loves to travel, meet interesting people, does more listening than talking, is quiet but not weak, a deep thinker and a good observer. He is now in love with the Glasgow drinking habit and aspires to become an investigative Journalist.

Lori Delaney is part of the promotions team at New Normal Magazine. She is currently studying Digital Journalism at Strathclyde University after completing a BA in Film and Media. As an adrenaline addicted country girl Lori seeks to fill her lust for life by travelling, writing and filming. Her passion for film and editing has spanned a decade and she has gained over 60,000 subscribers on YouTube in the past year. She would really like to tell her Mum that all those hours spent on the computer in her bedroom were useful.
Mohammed is from the Gaza Strip in Palestine. Before starting a master’s in Digital Journalism, he worked as a reporter, photographer and photo editor, and helped establish the first ever independent photojournalism agency in Palestine.
